When Debbie Stroud, CEO of Whataburger, visited our Yukon team, she brought more than just words of encouragement—she brought energy, vision, and a deep appreciation for what makes Vibe unique. Right away, she shared how much she loved our name, Vibe, recognizing that it perfectly captures the passion, dedication, and people-first spirit that define our team.

Just this past week, I was in Oklahoma City, and I met with our franchisee group Vibe. Isn't that an amazing name as they continue to grow our brand?

But Debbie’s visit wasn’t just about admiration—it was about connection and inspiration. She took the time to engage with our team members, listening to their experiences and celebrating the hard work that goes into making every Whataburger experience special. And now, our Yukon team is in the spotlight! They’re featured in her latest Stroud Sessions video—a series she creates to guide and motivate Whataburger franchisees and employees.

In this month’s Stroud Sessions, Debbie shared key insights on what it takes to deliver exceptional customer experiences—introducing the “Three As”:

  • Attentive – Being fully present, greeting guests warmly, and listening to their needs.

  • Accurate – Getting orders right every time, from extra spicy ketchup to perfectly toasted buns.

  • Accelerated – Keeping speed and efficiency top of mind to exceed guest expectations.

Debbie encourages a culture of real interaction and connection, stating in a personal email to the Yukon team, “Let’s talk about them [the Three As] together—and then, I want to hear from you about one way you can put them in action this month.” This statement reinforces her commitment to being an engaged and present leader rather than a detached CEO.

“Attentive, Accurate, and Accelerated—these words resonate with me when I think of excellence in operations and support.”

She emphasized the importance of living Whataburger’s core values—Pride, Care, and Love—in every interaction, whether at the front counter or behind the scenes.

Debbie’s visit served as a powerful reminder that we are all part of something bigger. Every meal served, every smile shared, and every moment of teamwork contributes to creating an unforgettable experience for guests. It’s this dedication that fuels Whataburger’s success—and Vibe is leading the way!

“I want to encourage you to focus on the things in our control – delivering the very best experience to our customers.”

As we celebrate Whataburger's 75th anniversary this year, it’s vital to reflect on how the principles of attentiveness, accuracy, and speed can continue to shape our restaurant culture. Keeping the energy high and service exceptional is essential as we embrace this milestone.

Let’s continue to bring the Vibe every day and make this anniversary one to remember!
